She came home at midnight to find her dog and neighbor’s ‘designer Poodle’ tied together —  the twisted plan behind it made her call the cops

A terrifying sight in the backyard left a pet owner fuming with anger. She found her dog tied to her rude neighbor’s fancy dog, a “designer Doodle”, without her permission. The owner was forced to call the cops when she discovered the twisted plan behind the attempt. In a viral Reddit post with 2,200 votes, the pet owner (u/doodle-throwaway) asked for the internet’s judgment on her stance as she narrated the series of events that opened her eyes to her neighbor’s suspicious intentions. 

The 20-year-old woman owned a “beautiful” Golden Retriever named Luna. “She's my life, the furrier sister I never had,” she expressed in a Reddit post. One night, when she returned home late after a night out with friends at 2 a.m., she almost tripped over a “furry tangle” in the middle of her lawn. She recalled leaving her pup with a fresh bowl of water and a box full of toys outside to keep Luna entertained. It shocked her to see that her poor pup was tied to her neighbor’s dog, Mr. Snuggles, a Poodle, in a breeding attempt. She explained that her neighbor, Susan, was in her 50s and “obsessed” with ethical breeding. 

“We've had plenty of ‘heated discussions’ about her stance on backyard breeders and designer dogs, mostly fueled by my ranting about how ethically wrong Doodles are,” the pet owner said. The neighbor had been planning the immoral breeding plan behind her back, and the owner’s night out seemed like the perfect opportunity. Susan had wanted designer Golden Doodles and had her eyes set on Luna’s “healthy genes” for breeding puppies, all without asking permission from Luna’s mom. “While I was out sipping tequila sodas, Susan decided to play matchmaker with our unsuspecting pups. She admitted to letting Mr. Snuggles out while she was ‘napping’ and hoping Luna would ‘take care of things.’" 

Though Luna was unharmed, the owner was furious. She “marched over to Susan's house, ready to unleash the mama bear” in her. However, the neighbor was reportedly unapologetic despite getting caught red-handed. She rambled about the potential of designer breeds becoming the future without reconsidering her immoral act. When the owner confronted her about it, Susan revealed her crooked plan behind it. “She already lined up buyers for the non-existent puppies and expected me to be on board with sharing the profits. Like, I should be thrilled my poor Luna was used against her will, and I get a cut as some sort of consolation prize?” the post added. 

The owner called the cops. They showed up at the neighbor’s door and put an end to her “business venture.” Susan threw a tantrum while a “traumatized” Luna hid behind her owner’s legs. The pet mom asked for opinions, reassessing whether she had overreacted, and the matter could have been solved in a civilized manner. “Get Luna to a vet now and get her spayed. If she is already pregnant, they will perform the animal equivalent of an abortion. Do not let her get stuck involved in this disgusting breeder scheme,” warned u/JanetInSpain and u/StrangledInMoonlight noted, “And don’t leave Luna outside like this. Crazy lady might steal Luna.”
