What's the hardest thing about parenting? Perhaps it's convincing your children that green vegetables aren't tiny leafy villains on their plates. Getting the kids to eat healthy vegetables feels like a never-ending quest, filled with dramatic, over-the-top refusals. Turns out, some dogs would rather go hungry than munch on vegetables. Sounds bizarre, right? Well, a pet parent who goes by @meg_young98 on TikTok shared an adorable video of her German Shepherd named Oak taking a single bite of lettuce—only to reject it immediately like it was the ultimate betrayal.

In the hilarious video, the irresistibly sweet German Shepherd was sitting on the floor, eagerly waiting for some delicious food, when her mom pulled the ultimate prank—offering her dog a single bite of lettuce. Just one single bite and Oak was completely done with it—especially after being such a good dog and offering her paw like a perfect little angel, only to be later betrayed by the not-so-good-tasting leaf. Simultaneously, the overlay text on the screen read, "POV: Mom said veggies are good for you and you're a good sport, so you try for yourself and are absolutely icked out!" Moreover, the dog's mom revealed that she was overwhelmed watching Oak's reaction and hence rewarded her with a delicious treat to compensate for the betrayal.

"The hover at the end! I felt so bad, I promised Princess Oak was given a tasty treat to make up for it!" she revealed in the TikTok video caption. Meanwhile, reacting to Oak's clip, @fine.with.dandy suggested, "Maybe try to blend veggies and fruits and make like frozen treats and trick them into thinking it’s a normal treat. Or mix veggies with fresh food; that’ll maybe get them to eat it." To this, Meg, the dog's owner, responded and shared, "She eats most just fine! We were just trying something new, but thanks for the tip!" in the comments. Similarly, on a lighter note, @jenna asked, "Why would you torture that poor baby?"

While all owners need to feed their four-legged babies a well-balanced diet and not give them junk food, in another similar story, a pet parent decided to give her dog chocolate, and the reason is just heart-wrenching. A woman named Kim (@kimloves4444 on TikTok) offered her ailing dog, Sandy, a piece of chocolate for the very first time to make her last few hours on earth special. "Because no dog should ever go to heaven without tasting chocolate first," read the onscreen text as Kim fed her beloved pup some sweet treats.

In the now-viral video, Kim was evidently emotional, and she was seen crying uncontrollably. "Thank you for being such a good girl, Sandy. I love you!" the dog's mother wrote in the caption. Notably, besides chocolates, Kim shared what she made Sandy eat in her final days. She revealed, "I made her bacon eggs and pancakes and was making a video of what I was feeding her 3 days before her appointment, but we had to be rushed in for an emergency euthanasia and never finished the video," in the comments.
