In October 2025, a woman from Marcellus, New York, gave her husband a shock he would never forget after claiming she was working late and planned to shop for Halloween on her way home. When she came back, she asked her husband to help her with the bags. What he found waiting in the passenger seat completely stunned him. She had been planning the surprise for days and had kept every detail a secret. The man's reaction made her effort completely worth it.

As reported by Newsweek, 27-year-old Jayme Hunt told her husband, Ryan, that she was working late and would stop by the store afterward, but her evening was planned for something entirely different. She and her husband had seen a Facebook post about a 3-month-old puppy in need of a home, and although they already had a 6-month-old Golden Retriever named Rip, Jayme couldn’t resist. “A couple of days later, Ryan asked if we were really going to get him, and I told him absolutely not (even after I had already told the lady yes). I went to work the next day, told him I was working late, and then stopping at the store for a Halloween costume,” she said. She then set off to Utica to pick up the puppy instead.

When Hunt returned home, she asked Ryan to help carry bags from the car, keeping him unaware of the real surprise. But as he stepped outside, he was stunned to see the newest member of the family in the passenger seat, a little puppy named Dozer. Jayme admitted she was nervous about his response, but immediately recognized that Ryan had fallen for Dozer. The moment was captured on TikTok under the handle @jayme_hunt, showing Ryan’s priceless reaction as he met the puppy for the first time.

The video quickly went viral, gaining over 4.4 million views and more than 908.2K likes. Thousands of viewers poured into the comment section after the video was posted on October 24, sharing their joy and amazement at the heartwarming surprise. One user, @samidee3190, commented on Ryan's sweet reaction and the situation, "He can't even be mad. He knows how cute his new puppy is. He's excited." @wdagal1994 wrote, "The way he picked him up and instantly hugged him. Good man!" @taisleyshops joked, "Why did he look at it like he genuinely thought it was mistakenly placed there by someone!"

She explained how Dozer is settling into his new home, forming an immediate bond with his older canine brother Rip. “Rip is more of a daddy’s boy and Dozer is quickly becoming a momma’s boy. But of course, we love them both equally,” she said. For Hunt, the joy of surprising her husband has been matched by the happiness she sees in her dogs. Dozer has brought a new energy to their home, and the couple has embraced the unexpected addition with open arms. Hunt expressed in conversation with the outlet that Dozer is “exactly what we needed.”
