Woman falls for her dog-sitter — turns out, he's the ultimate dog-dad

When Laura heard Rob (@mythologicaldogs on Instagram), an acquaintance, talking about missing his deceased dog, she offered to let him babysit her puppy. What began as a simple gesture turned into something way more beautiful and profound when the couple began dating and Rob became the ultimate dog-dad every furry baby needs. Through a heart-touching video, Laura honored the oh-so-beautiful man she loves, the one who's always ready to rescue dogs, offering them a second chance at life and the love they deserve.

When Laura returned after traveling, Rob, who had already developed a strong bond with her dog, asked if he could keep her, but the woman, of course, refused him almost immediately. "But a few months later, we started dating, and not long after that, he fully claimed the title of dog dad," Laura spoke, talking about Rob's incredible journey from being just a casual dog-sitter to someone her pup couldn't do without. "He loved my dog in a way I have never seen an animal cherished before," she added. Rob wanted a friend for their dog, and so the couple decided on getting another pup, but guess what? The search for just one dog never ended as Rob ventured into an empowering journey of rescuing dogs who had no one to look after them. He rearranged his life, made changes to his routine, only to make space for as many foster dogs as possible.
"He is the quiet force behind so many chances, especially for the bully breeds [that] the world often calls damaged," Laura added. From showering them with countless kisses, giving them gentle baths, to tucking them in bed every night, Rob does everything with all his heart. Moving on, Laura shared how Rob takes every opportunity to teach all the dogs that good humans exist and "unconditional love is not supposed to be one-sided." Well, in a world where, as per Shelter Animals Count, 10 million creatures die from abuse or animal cruelty every year in the United States alone, people like Rob make us believe that kindness is still alive despite the chaos.
Meanwhile, the heartfelt video, capturing Rob's genuine love for all the rescue dogs, quickly went viral on social media, garnering over a million views. The beautiful story received an outpouring of love from people online. For instance, a person who goes by @wethreepitties commented, "These men DO exist, and let me tell you, they are keepers, and if you find one, do whatever you can to keep him forever." Likewise, @tyler said, "Rob is showing the world what strength and masculinity really look like!"

On the other hand, @kris10satterfield wrote, "Mending hearts, he didn't break! If that doesn't sum up what it means to be a good dog dad (or mom, too), then I don't know what does." Similarly, @hazey.vision commented, "This was so beautifully said....Rob, you are such an amazing man and dog dad...the world needs more men like you. Happy Father's Day!" Another user, @dawn_powell, said, "You and the pups are so lucky to have him, and I’m glad you realize it. There aren’t many men willing to open their hearts to this many dogs. I can’t even get my partner to open his heart to foster a single dog. You’ve got it made, girl."
