Snuggling with pets on the bed is a favorite pastime for many pet owners. When it comes to sleeping, a fair share of people avoid dozing off with their pets in bed due to a myriad of reasons, ranging from sleep interruptions to hygiene concerns. But this couple is shifting perspectives with their bedtime ritual of squeezing five dogs onto their king-size bed for a good night’s sleep. Tracy Fosterling, who goes by @tracyfosterling on TikTok, shared a viral clip showcasing her furry bedtime routine, showing how she and her husband fit themselves into bed with all of their pets. Baffled viewers shared their candid opinions in the comment section.

“Every night, my husband and I comfortably sleep with five dogs in our bed,” she narrated while documenting their bedtime routine. Her husband walked into the bedroom while one of their pups had already settled in on one side of the bed. Meanwhile, Fosterling acknowledged how sharing the bed with pets may seem bizarre for some pet owners, but the couple had a lot of fun with their furry pals. To begin with, the creator pointed to her smaller dog, who settles at the top between the couple’s heads. “What makes it easy is that each dog knows where it is supposed to go,” she said.

Three of the larger dogs tuck themselves on the outer edges of the bed. Their Black Lab settles beside her husband’s legs, while another brown pup claims its spot near Fosterling’s bedside. Lily, who weighs under 20 pounds, sleeps right by her feet. The final pet, Penny, prefers sleeping on the outer end of the bed. “And she will literally put her head on my pillow,” Fosterling revealed. However, the pet owner was not able to get Penny up on the bed that night, so only four of the dogs ended up sleeping with them.

Fosterling clarified that her husband is completely on board with the routine and does not “hate” her for it. “Our dogs love it, we like it, and for the most part, it works for us,” she concluded. The post brought in 7.2 million views and 69,800 likes. The comments were filled with a mix of reactions from fellow pet owners. “You fit five dogs on a bed better than we fit one 10-pound cat who somehow takes all the room on my side,” wrote @painthorse62. “Too much human intimacy in my bed for this, but to each their own,” quipped @frankie1680.

There was also ample support from pet owners who followed a similar bedtime practice. @amberhorton268 shared, “My husband and I sleep with 6 dogs in our bed, wouldn’t have it any other way.” @carolkerczb noted, “And during the winter, you stay pretty warm.” Sleeping with pets certainly has its pros and cons. According to a study, 56% of adults sleep with a pet in their bedroom, often for comfort and security. On the downside, it can increase the risk of allergies, germ exposure, and sleep disturbances.
