Golden Retriever gets back at delivery man for forgetting his treats — makes him deliver a very special ‘package’ to his owners

A Golden Retriever had a straightforward deal with a UPS deliveryman. He would bring the dog a cookie every time he came over to deliver packages to his owner. One day, when the deliveryman failed to present the treat, their mutual agreement was broken. The Golden Retriever, whose name was not revealed, wasn’t going to let it slide and forced the UPS truck to pull over and deliver a special 'package' to his house in a sneaky attempt. The dog owner shared a snap of the Golden culprit, along with a note summarizing the eventful day, in a Reddit post under the username u/dickfromaccounting.

The post was titled, “No regrets,” alongside an adorable picture of the dog sitting in a snow-clad lawn that quickly caught the internet’s attention. Anytime he saw the UPS truck near his home, the pup expected a cookie from the driver. It was a non-negotiable. While the delivery man may have taken it lightly, the dog was determined to prove that the deal could never be broken. iHeartDogs reported that on a hectic work day, the delivery guy somehow missed throwing him a cookie, so the dog sneaked into his truck and settled among the pile of packages, escaping the driver’s notice.

The delivery guy finished work around his house and drove off to the neighborhood to deliver the remaining parcels. Meanwhile, the Golden Retriever enjoyed his little detour, eager to claim his due cookie. Eventually, the UPS deliveryman discovered his unexpected ride-along hiding behind the packages. He marveled at the pup’s clever personality but had to deliver him back home to his owner. When the owner was informed about their dog’s antics, they decided to teach him a lesson and pinned a hilarious note on the pup to hold him accountable.

“The UPS man forgot to throw me a cookie. So, I snuck into his truck and took a ride around the neighborhood. He had to deliver me back to my house,” the note teased, while the Golden Retriever wore a somber expression. The post gained traction with 67,000 votes and several comments from intrigued Reddit users and fellow pet owners. “This is how my family got one of our dogs. The local stray kept jumping in my mom’s mail truck, no matter how many times she made him get out. We had that dog for years!” wrote u/OtterlyFascinating.
“I bet the UPS guy realized he had a passenger really quickly but wanted to enjoy it before doubling back,” quipped u/GG_is_life, and u/Flashygrrl joked, “Makes me wonder if she had to sign for the dog.” A fellow dog owner (u/archetypaldream) shared a similar experience. “My dog is also obsessed with the UPS man, the mail lady, and FedEx, ever since the mail lady saw him loose a few blocks away and gave him a ride back home in her mail truck. Suddenly [sic] all his dreams were realized at once: riding in a car, stopping every few feet to look at things and meet new people, a car door that stayed open constantly, the wind in his hair,” the comment stated.
