Pregnant woman was confused when her normally lazy Husky suddenly went wild — 12 hours later, her pet's warning became clear

Karlie Cluff (@karliecluff), a 36-week pregnant woman, couldn't understand why her usually lazy dog, Luka, went all zoomies until she learned the heartwarming reason the next day. In her video, she captured how Luka's behavior changed, making her flabbergasted. The clip, shared on Wednesday, January 18, 2025, has received 20K views so far.

Karlie went into labor at 36 weeks, but didn't realize it until her water broke. Luka, however, had sensed the changes in her body and tried making them obvious through his behavior. 20 hours before Karlie gave birth, Luka stood in the car's trunk like he used to as a puppy. Around 9 p.m., the Husky, who's usually the lazy head, began jumping around in their yard while Karlie lay outside in the heat because of the pain. Despite the discomfort, she hadn't realized that she had slipped into labor; in fact, she spent the night sleeping next to Luka, oblivious to what was about to happen. The next morning, around 10 a.m., her water broke, and she immediately rushed to the hospital.

While Karlie was heading out, Luka looked at her, as if wishing her the best for what was ahead. She gave birth to a healthy baby boy at 3:51 p.m. "Luka knew I was in labor before I did," Karlie wrote in her caption. She also shared a glimpse of Luka's first meeting with their baby boy. "This is your dog, and this is your baby. You guys have to be best friends," Karlie's partner said, introducing them to each other. With time, Luka's bond with the baby grew, and he became his ultimate savior. He would sit next to his cradle while the baby slept, and lie next to him when he played on the ground. "[They are] definitely best friends," Karlie added.

This is not the first time a dog has sensed when a baby is arriving. In another similar story, Abby Konold, a pregnant woman, was baffled when she noticed her dogs, Bear and Chief, started acting weirdly. Her pets had grown more protective and overly clingy. Three days before her labor, Bear and Chief began resting their heads on Abby's belly, and didn't leave her alone for a minute. The woman thought she would have to wait past her due date, but her dogs knew she would go into labor early. Confused by their behavior, Abby informed her family, who also agreed to the changes in the canines.

Abby was supposed to give birth on September 4, 2024, but she ended up delivering her baby five days earlier than expected.  "I just think it’s so crazy that dogs can sense something like that, especially in their human owners," she said. Soon after the baby arrived, Bear seemed more relaxed. Chief, however, was confused and didn't know how to react to the addition of a new family member.

Meanwhile, reacting to Karlie's video, @ashravenblood commented, "'You gotta be his best friend.' He understood the assignment!" @chels_rae92x3 recounted, "My sweet girl knew I was in labor before I did. The bond she shared with my sweet baby after was beautiful; she crossed the rainbow bridge two weeks ago." @alyssajenkins_ confessed, "I can’t love this enough!"
